There was on water in this beat so it was unfishable. To be honest, the description on the Fishing Passport website makes it sound like it's a lot more than it is. It is tremendously overgrown all along the length of the beat - I did inspect it all despite the water level. I would not recommend anyone waste their time on this beat even with decent water. You would find a spot or two where you can throw a roll cast but otherwise it's all going to be bow and arrow.

Haven’t fished at all. Thought i’ve booked Afon Dulas close to Machynlleth, but it appeared a 2 hour drive to the Dulas i’ve booked, which i didn’t do. Very disappointed! N.B. The location was only sent to me after I booked and payed. I wish you all the best…

Fishing Passport Note : The location of every fishery is shown on the website prior to booking. Detailed beat maps are issued once a booking is made.

Nice little beat, although quite challenging to navigate as the river is quite overgrown in places and the access is not great.

Having said that, I had a great few hours. Landed two little brown trout (7 and 10 inches) on a PTN and lost another two. Covered about half the beat in two hours but could have gone slower.

No fish caught today and not much fly hatching. Water certainly higher and cooler than this week last year.

Cool showery day with a mild breeze.
Happened to be in the area so fished this lovely little beat for a couple of hours. One trout caught.

Complete waste of time & money; Dulas is virtually empty and very dry. Unfishable. Wish I’d known in advance. Doubt you’ll refund me, however.

Water quite coloured.
Not many fish showing.
Tried dries (terrestrials mainly) and pheasant tail nymphs without much success!

3 x trout 6-11 inches, Parachute Adams. Oh dear! I have to report another beat which badly needs some trimming and access work, just after penning a piece for the newsletter about the wonderful fishing in the Golden Valley. There are a few gaps at the top where I did my best, but the lower end is thoroughly overgrown. What I can't understand is that, according to information I have been given, this was last done in January 2015 and yet it is supposed to be an adopted beat? What happened to the maintenance last winter?

A funny sort of day , fished the Honddu , club water , and had one cracker of a brownie on a Mohican mayfly , but wanted to give another piece of water a bash , the weather was pretty decent , and on the Honddu , quite a bit of insect life , and still a good few mayflies about . . . . About fifteen degrees , overcast , bit of a breeze spot on morning . . . . .

I opted for the little Dulas Brook , as should be running just about fishable . . . Parked up at the recreation car park , by the playing field , and gave it a look , things looked good , running at a nice height , slightly coloured perfect !!!!!

Fished Mohican mayfly , Parachute Greenwells and Adams the time I was there , was really good fun , and a good few fish in the Brook to I'd say . . . Had several didn't stay on the large barbless Mayfly pattern , but lovely explosive takes on it , cracking stuff. !!!!!!!

Some lovely pools , and some very very deep , don't take this little Brook for granted , and a suruptitious approach is definitely required !!!! Two to the Mohican mayfly , one on the Greenwells , and one on the Adams Parachute , also two slipped from the Adams also , a really fun few hours here , will be back soon , and plenty of insect life there too , some lovely pools , and one seem s to run into another , great stuff ,and just whatnot I like skulking under the canopy , casting while kneeling in the Brook , great fun , four little stunning brownies to the net , all between seven and nine inches , two were bigger , and slipped the net , dooooooh !!!! Always the same hey !!! Wil be back very soon , a superb three hours on this Lilliputian Brook , happy days !!!!!!!!!!
