The fishery is let exclusively to one rod with the option of bringing guests. One other salmon angler AND one coarse angler. In season, the guest coarse angler may fish the top (upstream) half of the fishery which is double bank.
Around ½ mile of left bank lower Wye salmon fishing midway between Wyesham and Bigsweir. A low water beat that fishes best when the Redbrook NRW gauge is reading 1m or less, ideally between 0.5m or 0.7m. The beat includes the superb fly run at the head of Cadora pool.
Above 1m the fish are mostly passing through, though there is always a chance of one pausing mainly in the Alders Pool or on the flat above Cadora.
Below 1m there are usually a fair number of residents and in low water, the beat is capable of holding a good stock of fish over the whole length.
The riverbed is mostly large rocks and wading is difficult and unnecessary except to get on to Bakers Crib. Except for Cadora Stream, the beat in appearance is not classic fly water though the fish do respond well to the fly if the water is clear enough.
In dry weather a 4x4 vehicle can be driven along the length of the fishery and day tickets have the use of a small hut with cooking facilities.
