Well, I intended a quick morning visit due to impending heat wave but was curtailed even earlier due to a call from the mrs re our chocolate Lab being taken ill but…. 4 wbt to the net within an hour 8 -10 inches would suffice in any fisherman’s book I would say ? These guys are super quick on the take and feisty once on, hence the net ! A beautiful stretch of the Edw, Hergest on Saturday for more of the same ! Btw, Archie seems ok now ????

Really nothing there. Tried dries, emergers, swung wet flies and nymphs. Didn't get a solid bite all day. That said there is ample reason it may not have fished well. It was quite hot and bright.
Enjoyed my day none the less and the Abernant beat is beautiful and likely a great spot under the right conditions.

Brutally hot and sunny day!
Unsurprisingly the fish were in the deeper, faster water.
Fished from 1500 until about 1800.

Only bite of the morning, to a couple of krill pellets, but felt fortunate and thankful in the extremely hot conditions. Left at 13:30, just to hot!

On trotted bread flake. Temperature was miserably hot. Left after a few hours. Can get a wash off if in flood but not if too hot. Poor really
