One knock early in the day, then nothing. River in partial flood, deep and very fast flowing making wading difficult, plus a tree across the river not far up the beat that added to the problem. It was too deep after the weir, so only the lower section was available.
Lovely setting, will go back for another try later in the season.

First time on this beat and 6’ of extra water didn’t help the choice of swims. One rod in the top field and 3 rods tackled the hill round the wood into the bottom field.
Best barbel was 10lb 2oz.

Fantastic day on Beat 6, ended up with three good Barbel, two 7lb plus and one of 8 and a quarter. Lost two to hook pulls as well. Also had two decent Chub, one of which was 5lb 1oz. River pushing well but able to hold bottom with 5 ounces. Lovely private feel to the place, didn't see a soul all day. Will definitely be returning!!

One good take at the start of the beat by the bridge, nothing after that. The river was in flood, fast flowing, this and a fallen tree across the river just up from the bridge made wading difficult and in some places impossible.
We only fished to the weir as the river was too deep after it, tried to go through the field, but the gate would not open and the there was an electric fence across it!
Lovely spot, will return, hopefully conditions will be better.

Beat:Upper Breinton
Fishing:Coarse

Rainy wet conditions. Slippery banks. Chocolatey coloured water making the fishing hard with the fast current. Margins were the only area which were fishable using a 5oz lead in the slack to just about hold bottom. Lovely peaceful day for our first time on the wye. All fish caught on pellets.
2 Barbel, 1 Chub, 1 Other
