Apart from one small section the wading is extremely challenging unless you have a stick and know what you are doing. One 3/4 pound brown to a natural nymph. Broken off on the same fly by another. Lost two on dries, on and off again, but very few rising fish and only in very short bursts. Not a beat I'd return to.

Beat:Llyn Frongoch (Aberystwyth AA)
Fishing:Trout (Stillwater)
No. of Anglers:2
Cold start.Nothing much happening at Frongoch so we moved to Rhosrydd where there were a few fish moving. A very impressive brown between 4-5lb was taken on a small buzzer and safely returned.
Please note that the track down to this Llyn is very muddy and slippery at the moment and you will need a 4x4.
After that we tried the Llyns up the other side of the A44 and had 4 more wild browns.
A lovely days fishing and thanks to AAA

Another bad day fishing. Not sure how much stock or when it is stocked. Only 1 fish for two anglers after 10 hours fishing. Not sure how much longer I'll be paying nearly £20 to fish here.

Beautiful pristine clear water. Fast flowing. Only a couple of surface flies seen and no evidence of feeding fish. No takes to my hare's ear nymph, partridge and orange or black and peacock spider. A blank day!

Area:Lower Wye
Beat:Middle Hill Court
Fishing:Salmon
No. of Anglers:2
River in fine fettle, clear, a little too high at 1.5m at Monmouth to make the most of the fly water on the beat though. Otherwise a great day in the shadow of Goodrich castle a few trout on the fly got things going for the new season nothing to the spinning rods. No Salmon seen or touched, we'll be back being March there's time yet to make the most of the spring season!
