Area:Usk

Beat:Cwmwysg Ganol

Fishing:Trout (River)

No. of Anglers:2

Cwmwysg conditions were marginal. Fished down from waterfall, top of beat with nymphs and spiders. Early, quick on and off but nothing after that. A few beginning to rise as we packed up. Three for MH, also fishing across and down.
Main access gate came close to injuring my hand (and damaging my waders!)
Can the beat owner / manager / farmer be persuaded to remove the rusting barbed wire from the top rail? Climbing over the gate is difficult enough without the health and safety issue.

River was heavily coloured and up 1.5mtrs. Fished the far upstream peg where there was a crease and backwater. Very slow but managed a decent barbel and chub on garlic meat. Got soaked.
