The river was completely different than downstream at Severn Arms. The water was very low and clear. Only 4 trout caught on euronymphing, no grayling seen today, I am surprised. Anyway, good nature, it's definitely worth visiting this stretch.

Two bites but no fish ,landed one crayfish ! My suspensions are that the crayfish have taken over making bottom fishing difficult.

Fished the top end this morning. Went home about 2.00pm
4 good barbel, best 7 1/2 lbs. Lost 4 others including perhaps the biggest fish of the day when my landing net came adrift at the point of landing and disappeared into the depths! Biggest chub about 3lb, the remainder all small.
I will be returning soon. Lucky to have met Stefan. Very handy to have expert advice freely available. Will seek him out hopefully on my next return in the near future.
Only 4 canoes this morning causing no problems. A couple in one of the canoes applauded me as I was landing one of the barbel! A nice gesture.

4 Barbel, 4 Chub

Great day on the wye, fishing was most productive in the morning. Not loads of tempting pegs in low conditions so day was spent in the same peg close to car park. Great barbel fishing though, chub numbers seem to be lower on this section.

8 Barbel, 5 Chub

First time on the Llynfi. River was low and clear. Nothing rising so tried a nymph. missed one take but hooled up with the second. Very difficult to get to some fishy looking swims, but then it is a "wild stream". Damned Himalayan balsam also.
