Nice day out on one of my favourite beats. Not bad fishing considering the low water conditions. Nothing massive and no trout but had 11 Grayling to hand, all on nymphs

Fished all accessible pegs, some small chub in faster water at top of beat,4 nice chub lower down in the slow section.Found a peg near boathouse and had 3 barbel in the afternoon. As expected river was very low and sluggish but felt we did well given the conditions.

The water level was predictably very low so much so you could see the bottom along most of the stretch with one or two deeper pegs, however the pegs were so high on the bank unfortunately my landing net failed to reach the water! Having found some rapids further up the stretch i thought this was my best offer for the day, although it was hard going from the off i did manage to catch two Chub between 4-5lb but it soon went quiet after that. After attempting several other swims without success, i decided to call it a day and head to the nearest pub.
Thanks WUF and land owners for obtaining great access to a great river and all the wildlife that it holds.
I'll be back again soon!
