A falling and clearing river meant the barbel didn’t show. However some big chub to 5lb made the trip worthwhile. Most fish caught trotting meat. Couple on feeder fished boilies. 1 small barbel around 3lb.

Fishing beat 2 river in great condition if a little clear for barbel. 4 Chub 3-5lb in immaculate condition. 1 barbel at 9lb also in great condition. Fantastic half day fishing with most of the action between 17:00 and 17:30

Cold overnight, with a sunny start to the day didn't seem to help the barbel fishing. Clouded over at lunch time and all fish came after this during the afternoon.
River was running a bit slower than I expected, Ledgered pellets with PVA bags was the method used.
