4 trout caught, two under 1lb, two pushing 2lb. A very bright day and low water, all fish taken in fast water. Larger fish taken on small streamer patterns, small fish on PTN. All fish caught in the morning on the beat below the bridge. I was on the beat above the bridge for the afternoon. Large event tents were being constructed right next to the river and in low water this beat is too short to sustain half a days fishing in my view.

Another warm Spring day with sun and cloud. Breeze stronger today and variable although mostly up and across river. Fished 11.30 to 16.00 but action faded after 15.00 . No hatch to speak of but once again searching likely seams with an Olive Comparadun produced the goods. Hooked 8 and netted 5, failing to connect with several more slashing takes. These were superb condition fish up to about 2.75 lbs. Another wonderful day on the river.

Sunny and hot and river at a very low level didn’t make things easy. A few fish rising but no hatch to speak of. All fish caught on nymphs using duo and French Leader. Wading is very slippery so take care even in shallow water.

Very sunny and warm, river low. Hard going but managed a decent fish on a PTN.

A glorious Spring day. Mostly sun with occasional cloud. Temp up to 19C. Wind light and variable to start then settled upstream happily. Fished 11.00 to 16.00. No hatch of any kind although spinners were dancing in sheltered areas and some laying. Without being disturbed by trout... I only saw 1 fish rise all day but by fishing likely seams and riffles with an Olive Comparadun hooked 4 and netted 3 stunning condition trout of circa 2.5 lbs. Another wonderful afternoon on the river.
