Not ideal conditions for fishing with very clear low water. Canoes & swimmers as usual in fine weather when guests renting the house above Lady Alexander's beat. Probably made little difference to the fishing. Enjoyed the new fishing hut...proper job. Thanks for the day.

Great days fishing good access to swims .fished most of the stretch using roving tactics , river was low and clear . Some lovely Chub, biggest being 5lb but most 3-4lb mark .Barbel went to 6 1-2lb . We used float and leger tactics , most fell to luncheon meat and pellet

A warm , mostly cloudy evening seemed to augur well, with the Wye still at a normal summer level and flow. However, the barbel weren't co-operating and I finished with five goodish chub and a number of bites missed or fish lost.

Amazing days float fishing, went trotting for Barbel but couldn't get past the chub, but was so much fun on the float and a few went of 5lb. Will be back later in the season to see if the Barbel want to join in
