Fished for trout. River on the low side, bright, sunny and no hatches bar a few yellow duns. Tough day but 2 small WBT caught no more than 8 inches, on a stunning beat with, many different features that could keep you occupied for more than the full day we spent there. Fish taken on a soft hackle wet fly to match the yellow duns.

First time on this beat, or indeed any on the Honddu. Didn't arrive until just before midday, so not the best time to be fishing.
Very hot, strong sun, and clear water. So wasn't too hopeful. Only fished for 3 hours, and only made it to the field above the barbed wire strung across the river. Here I was met by a herd of cows and calf's in no mood for my intrusion. So being a complete coward I retreated.
Landed 1 trout on a ptn New Zealand style and lost a good fish on a klinkhammer in the run just below the rail bridge.
