A cold day and even colder water but some hatch activity. The water was very low and clear. There was a prolonged (maybe 1 hour) hatch of BWO attracting some rises. I managed to attract two very large brown trout with a CDC dry pattern but only netted one of these (a beautiful 18" specimen) - I thought the 'one that got away' was even bigger. A lovely 4 hours....

Rectory almost showing bare bones today at 9’’ and clear. A smallish olive hatch on the rocks early afternoon produced a brownie of 3/4 lb, and my guest rod had a couple of Grayling from the tail. Rain needed and soon. No sign of any salmon.

Water .61m and gin clear, 10c and sunny. Very strong hatches of grannom from 11.30 onwards. Gabe fished sub surface with spider pattern grannom, and I fished dry dark olive. Surprisingly very sparse rise of trout throughout day
I induced takes from 2 reasonable trout of under a pound but both detached, first on dark olive, and second on March Brown upwing size 12.
Again, wind increased and temperature dropped rapidly from 4.
