An interesting catch at 11.59 this morning. Small Porbeagle shark in the top pool on Greenbank Usk. The fish came to a bloodworm fished deep. Feisty little fella as well ....Nearly had my hand off!

First day out since Lockdown and it was good to be back at Goodrich. The river was fining down and a bit higher than I would have liked, although wading was possible in places (with care). Caught two chub on the fly, the largest around 3.5 to 4lb. Not the salmon I was hoping for, but it saved a blank.

With the turn back to much colder temperatures the fishing was slow, with nothing rising and little hatching. However, I did manage to hook two and land one, both on PTNs. The river is in fine fettle and at a good height.

Nothing at all, water was very clear and clean,lots of flood damage,only saw one trout near farmers storm damaged bridge. Wind was causing all sorts of problems for me, but it is a lovely beat . Maybe not many fish after last summers drought ? But most probably me ! Will be back, many thanks

River a bit high but a pleasant day. No sign of any salmon.

4 rainbows caught 3 returned to fight another day. New season and the approach roads are in an even worse state of repair than last year and apparently the best thing to do is complain to welsh water it carries more clout ! guess what I'm doing next.

River in good fishing condition. Fished through beats 2, 3, 4 and 5 thoroughly, but no salmon touched or seen. A lovely spring day on the river and an impressive hatch of March Browns after 2pm which brought the trout up.
