early start and all fish came between 5am and 8.30 - lost a couple of decent fish in the rocks and snags on beat 2
-should have packed up when it got hot and sunny - but sat it out and cooked without a bite for 6hrs - with about 200 swans and canada geese my swim looked more like Slimbridge at feeding time, made it really hard work at times - not sure id fish this beat again til the younger birds have moved on.

Washed off Sunday, today was the Wye’s redemption. Looked in tremendous condition. Much lower level, 90% clear and cooler (and fresher) than a couple of weeks ago. Very little rising although I managed two on J G Emerger about 8am. The rest fell to a pink tagged hares ear variation, on the dropper whilst euro-nymphing in the many channels. Ideal conditions, until the sun really did come out late morning.

First visit to venue, fished top end, no whiskers but a few nice chub, best 4-13, nice to catch it again in winter! Most on garlic meat, not interested in pellet. Access good, but took a break during afternoon, to hot! Try again tomorrow.
