Beautiful autumn colours on the Irfon this afternoon. Arrived to a hatch at Aberbwtran Pool, during which two grayling escaped the net on dry flies. Managed two more decent ones on beaded nymphs further down the beat. The river looked to be in fine fettle. Leaves starting to fall now.

Second fish caught around 4 pm in Cafn Stream same fly netted by Joanna Fraser In next 1/2 hour lost 3 fish in Cafn Stream and Cafn
