Possibly the wettest days fishing we have ever enjoyed! Great fun though and a nice pint and a meal in the pub in Fownhope was a good end to the day.

Just one fish today but 2 others lost at the net. The river rose steadily throughout the day meaning debris was a real issue, keeping a bait in place for 10 minutes was impossible at times.

Bit of a first here for me on the Wye.... like other anglers we share the river with people in boats.dogs and their walkers plus the occasional swimmer but seldom do you get the opportunity to observe horses galloping through your swim...!! Three hardy riders in atrocious conditions were galloping upstream but fortunately were very courteous when noticing me so did not treat my line as the winning tape of the Cheltenham Gold Cup and passed by slowly...The wind and rain were relentless but managed to catch a couple of Barbel in testing conditions and will return to this beat in the future.
