Great day to take my nephew for his first barbel trip. All fish caught on pellet with the best fish being just over ten pound.
Considering the lack of recent rain I didn’t think we would be catching a great deal which I think made the day even more special.

The Creel is definitely the WUF postman.....it always delivers!!….Despite tough conditions a few good fish were caught on a beautiful September day....Usual feeder tactics the method and would have caught more if had stayed later...Plenty of wildlife and very little boat traffic created a lovely ambiance to be on the Wye and the long trek home not seem so bad...

Bright sunny day and the river was low. Trotting delivered the trout early morning. Moved along the top part of the beat. Taught son how to trott a float. At sun set two barbel in quick succession open end feeder.

Worth the 7 hour round trip, looking to book again.

River was at low, fairly clear condition and the fish I caught on feeder filled with a mix of 8mm pellets, crushed pellets ground bait, casters and hemp, the bait was hair riged 15mm bloodworm dumbbell. The weight of the fish was 5lbs 11oz

Nice day overall, unfortunately the number of canoes on the river didn't allowed me to use the full potential of the opposite bank, and after a cast past the mid river when canoes activity died off, at last knockings around half 7pm received the long waited bite of a pristine 5lb 11oz chub that made my whole trip from London worthy

3 small wild browns taken on beaded GRHE.

All three fish were caught at the very bottom on the beat in the fast water.

Once up to the waterfall the water was too flat and the fish (there were plenty there) fled before I could get close, or more annoyingly sank to the bottom next to the bank and just ignored (multiple different) flies.

There has been no appreciable rain for sometime. I have fished this beat before, after a spate, and had much more success.

I only fished the bottom of the two sections.

Beautiful place to spend a day.
