Fished from 10am till 7pm in baking hot weather.
Wasn’t expecting much as it was very sunny but the chub kept me interested throughout the day!
It all started around 11:00 with a lovely Barbel 9lb 11oz (on pellet and feeder) and then had chub until 5:30ish, when I had another barbel.
Ending up with 4 barbel and 7 good sized chub all on pellet from the lower field.
A good day considering the conditions.

Chris had more barbel today than his whole 3 day visit last year and well earned too.
Sherpa Coning added a few to the tally between his duties as chef.
A wonderful day on this stunning beat. It really is a treat to fish there.

A well maintained beat with good access to the top beat, parking was good although seemed a bit awkward parking in front of the gate, maybe access to field to park would be good. Lower beats gate along the road was not found so only 1 angler managed to fish this section by wading to no avail.
Plenty of lovely pools and runs to fish however only 1 trout was caught of around 6 inches in a red headed Loki.
Managed to lose the top 4 sections of an 8 section Hardy Smuggler graphite travel rod in the vicinity of the Bridge Pool (right by the tree with the sign). Please contact the Booking Office on 01874 712074 if found.

Scorching day, all the action as expected in the latter stages of the day. Usual pellet and feeder tactics. Decent, “Wye average” stamp of fish.
