Very low here now , as you might expect and very silty too and very very quiet on top with fish and fly. Expected again!
Going very very slow along the river and prospecting in the likely spots with a 14 black foam beetle or klinkhammer got the attention of some fish though . Four to hand at 7" & 9"", 11" and a superbly spotted 14incher. V happy with that of course but also got bounced by a clonker for here at circa 2lb at least I reckon!! Wow.. A decent number of fish fluffed too.

Decent number of assorted bugs on the stones where the water was flowing well and the resident Kingfisher putting on some good flybys. It actually flew just under my nose the once when was bent over looking at the bugs ! Blimey...

Beer and food was fab up at the Crown as always, I was pitched up at Tan house farm campsite there.
All highly recommended.

Nice bright day, with little or no wind, but cloud cover - fished with nymphs and wet flies - kept changing set through day.

Only managed to fish from around 10 -2pm. Planned to come back in the evening but eventually unable too. Basically two swims to fish and if I'd of brought my chest waders would of been float fishing as nice looking trots. Ideal for bringing the kids along and we rotated the rod so everyone caught a chub, and a picnic on the tables by the river a nice touch. Probably not a venue for a whole day's hard fishing though. Biggest chub a good 4lb'er and had a nice dace too. Access to the river fine but can see how once wet it's 4x4 only.

5 Chub, 1 Other
