River was up and fast flowing. We had to dig pegs out with a shovel to make it safe to fish. Difficult conditions but we still caught several barbel to 9lbs and a few chub. Great surroundings, we will be back!

We always have a day on this favourite beat - was under threat this year as it had rained. When we stood on the bridge at Disserth to assess the possibilities we could see the river was slightly coloured and up a bit - but three fish rose to tempt us and we thought that if there was a hatch we might make hay.....
No such luck! Very little fly life and on the beat where much of the wading is tricky we couldnt access usual fish holding areas due to lack of visibility in the water. So confined to the top half of the beat where James managed to winkle one 9 inch trout out but other than a few sub surface "bumps" that was it.

We will be back....

Well a few hours to kill before mowing this afternoon , and doing a few garden jobs while the weather is decent , so opted for the Lugg , Fishing the WUF and a section of club water . . . .

Nice weather when I parked up at Lower Litton Farm , had a twenty minute char tpwith the lovely lady there , I think it's important to liaise with the owners , so they know who's about , and also keep the happy rapport going with fisherman etc etcetc . . . . Headed down to the river at about tenish , muggy , slight breeze , and a bit of drizzle , petering out too nearly nothing . . . .

The Lugg brownies showing no interest in two different mayfly patterns this morning , was already a couple about , even at ten !!!! Stragglers from yesterday's party perhaps ??. So changed flies to a Parachute Greenwells , immediate response , in one of the pools , lovely confubodwnt take , cracking !!!!!

Morning went like that till I left at one , covering about half of the Litton beat , also changed to a CDC and elk , hammering that too !!! Eight lovely brownies to hand this morning , sizes ranging from six to twelve inches , gorgeous colouration , and it always amazes me how different these Lugg fish are from one to another , totally different spot and pattern formation . . . . Lovely !

The river was racing through this morning although lovely and clear considering , with a slight tinge perhaps , will be just about right in three or four days I reckon , a fun three hous , back to the lovely little Lugg very soon , maybe slip in a quick trip to the Edw early next week , between shifts !!!!!!
