1 Trout

This was my first time fly fishing a river alone, having been once before (guided) and have fished stocked lakes for 5 or 6 years on and off. It was very hot (approx 29 deg C), I fished from approx 2pm to 7pm and took 2 brownies opposite the hut in the pool area on a yellow klinkhammer type thing (both returned). Will upload photos once this gets approved..

Bright sunny morning. Tried spinning and worm with no success.

Last minute evening session which worked well as it was a very hot sunny day. All fish on pellet.

2 Barbel, 5 Chub

Only one rod fished. All chub between 1lb and 5lb. Trotted meat from the croy. A good half hour walk from car park. Beat is well kept. Good access to pegs although some steep.

10 Chub

Rise was good when arrived around 3pm in shallow pool tale. Emerger pattern worked well. 7 trout, 2 of which over 1lb.

Other fish were all dace, chub caught on feeder with meat. Beautiful setting good access with car and easiest access to river on this trip having knee mobility problems

What seemed like a perfect night was incredibly quiet. Is the sound of crashing sea trout at one in the morning a figment of my imagination. Great to be out though!
