Very disappointed we have fished this lake on several occasions not sure what the problem was the conditions were perfect when we arrived the lake looked dead no movement what so ever. Fish started to show about 6 pm around the island area but not in any significant numbers we can only presume that they have been spawning for the second time or a number of fish have been removed. Will monitor the reports to decide whether to return or not. The one fish that was caught was carp of 11lb full off spawn using floating bread

Overcast & warm. Not much colour after last weeks rain. Nothing rising early. So fished size16 gold bead hares ear. Immediate success. Had lots of takes that I missed. Caught 5 on above fly. There were the odd mayfly coming off. Saw a fish rise a few times so changed to a dry mayfly. I think I caught the fish rising, then anther shortly after, missed one further upstream. Then nothing more. Biggest at 7". Good fun. Those of you who have this sort of fishing on your doorstep should be very grateful.

3 x trout 6-10 inches, Parachute Adams. A couple of hours on the upper section (campsite busy at the bottom end). A few mayfly spinners around, but generally rather slow with very few rises on a hot afternoon.

I didn't arrive until 13:00 so I think I was fishing the hardest part of the day. Hot and sunny.
Only saw one fish rise once and that was it. Plenty of insect live but the fish didn't seem interested.
Still it was an enjoyable few hours
