Beat:Cannop Brook
No. of Anglers:1
Went after work and nothing was happening at all until about 7pm, at which point there was a proper evening rise - fish everywhere in the bigger pools and deeper runs. All on dries (is it almost summer, finally?!) olive klink probably took most but size 14 hare's ear DHE was popular, and took a few on a Grey Wulff. Mind you, I think some of them would have taken anything. All 4-9inch and returned safely.

Tough day - very hot and bright. A blank for me, and 3 fish managed by my companion - clearly the better angler. A terrific beat, beautifully kept - certainly one to come back to.
(unfortunately we couldn't locate the returns sheet on-site, so we couldn't complete as requested)

Area:Lugg & Arrow
Beat:Lyepole
Fishing:Trout (River)
No. of Anglers:1
It had been a few years since I last fished at Lyepole, a beautiful piece or river tucked away in a dramatic valley. The Lugg was perfect at 1ft 3ins on the gauge but the blue sky & bright sunshine probably made the fish wary. However after five hours of fishing a duo of Klinkhammer & nymph ten fish were caught, all bar one on the nymph. Expected more but a wonderful time surrounded by nature.
