Fished 11.00 until 2ish, the fish seemed spooked and as I reached roughly half way along the beat a teenager appeared behind me with a spinning rod and asked if it was out of season. I asked if he had a permit, he said no because he thought it was public fishing saying that it said about public access on the gate. All I saw was public footpath sign.

We fished a nymphs for a few hours. Very bright sunshine. Healthy flow of water but not a single pull, and no rises seen. We heard that Dulas Brook and nearby River Dore almost dried up at end of last year and fish had to be rescued. Could this be the reason for apparent lack of fish? No darting trout seen where the Dulas flows through Ewyas Harald, something we always saw in the time we've been coming down to fish the area> Any comments/ideas?

Spent a couple of hours with nymph and klinkhammer this afternoon. The water was cloudy and no fish were seen either rising or in the water (or on the end of the line!). Quite difficult conditions, would merit a group of us volunteering to walk the beat and clear some of the winter rubbish, logs and branches.

River dropping and clearing up. Lots and lots of crafts all shapes and sizes over 300. That with bright sun bad it a hard day. Couple fish showed late on in areas Mick recommended.

Another warm and bright day on the river. no action from any fish all day long. next to no rises and not a single nibble. Tried nymphs, wet, dry, klinks, buzzers. Just as we were packing up to go, the river woke up a little. The odd rise came at about 9pm but was too dark to do much about and struggled to change flies in the dark to give it a go.
Lovely open field with loads of sheep about. Surprised to see some people fishing the opposite bank from around 5pm onwards. The farmer also decided to move a load of sheep around his fields at mid day and drove his tractor across the middle section of the river multiple times, ruining the downstream fishing for a few hours.
A fun day out, nevertheless.
