Only my second visit to this beat but a river that needs respect. Wading stick a must as very deep pools. Mixed weather but didn't pour down and wind did make casting difficult for me. Water in shallows was gin clear so found deep pools the best fishing. Small hatches of LDO and fish were showing on top. Still need to practice in casting a dry and river suits the left handed angler. Had a few takes using weighted nymphs but too slow. Never mind a very interesting beat and lovely parking space.

Bright conditions with a blustery down stream wind. Only saw a couple of fish rising all day and fly life was sparse except for the odd grannom. Tried every tactic but the fish weren’t interested. Very nice beat which I’m sure in different conditions would yield good results.

A good sized clean looking fish lost from the orchard nothing else seen apart from a few trout and a couple of otters. Beautiful morning to be on the river.

A bright day, a little muggy as if a storm was coming. Fished the south side which was in the Lee of a fairly strong wind. Very few fish showing, just an occasional rise. One rainbow of 1 1/2 lb caught on a 20g black and gold Toby.

fished from 10am till 3.30pm french nymphing. all trout taking aqua baetis nymph with 3mm bead and all grayling taking gammarus on dropper. trout were all between 7-12 inches and grayling between 8-19 inches . maybe the pollution incident has damaged the trout population more than the grayling? though there seemed far less of the bigger grayling also with only five of the grayling caught around the 18 inch mark. all the same lets hope this beat over the next few years gets back to what it can produce
12 Trout, 11 Grayling
