Had an enjoyable days fishing on the usk,the water was as high as I can remember. Very sunny in the morning and like a mill pond, a few taps but no takes till pm when the wind picked up, had 3 nice trout. Now I'm an OAP I think that the 4 trout price could be lowered for us to about £12 and more OAP's would go fishing, cheers

More a day for meteorologists rather than fishers. Snow drifts blocked the track in (will now be melted), 9C warm and humid, 3 types of insects hatched, rumbles of thunder, lake cold and level high. Then it got windy and cold, but Bugeilyn always delivers and 2 trout in good condition caught with a size 12 Butcher, near the bottom. Many comments on the state of the track, but a walk in is always pleasant, with fine views and lots of wildlife to observe. Takes no more than 30-40 minutes.

For those of you who like a wild stream the Taf Fechan is well worth a visit at this time of year. If you can make the visit to coincide with the Pontsticill Reservoir just over flowing so much the better. The wild Tout take readily in these conditions and small flies Nymphs fished downstream can be very productive.
