Despite a fine day and the river in good condition bites were hard to come by. Only one barbel (8lb 13) and another lost. All fish to ledgered meat. Several anglers on the opposite bank also struggled.

Water back down to a nice height now ( 0.65 )and very clear. Fished indicator and nymphs in the gutter and the pools along the lower stretch. This is my preferred method here, but I notice a lot of people do well on dries but I rarely see any rises at all here even when there are sedges and olives about ! grayling to 16" and trout to 15" but mostly 10"
