Fished from 9.30 till 6pm. Fished the lower riffles and glides with rusty klinkhammer and PTN. Wet with some respit in rhe morning. Chucked it down for an hour or 2 from 2 til 4 but didnt deter the fish. A good number of surface activity. Caught 6 WBT from 12” to 18”. All took the klinkhammer rather than PTN. Great day despite getting very wet.

Fished from just after 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. River in good condition and mayfly were hatching sporadically. Some good fish moving but raining on and off and hatch never really got going. Had one or two offers on a Tups and mayfly patterns but failed to connect apart from one small brown of about 8 inches.
Also tried various nymphs but to no avail. First time fishing the beat but would certainly like another go!

No fish were taken. The quality of the fish and the fight they gave were superb. We only fished dry flies and found many fish very difficult to get to rise. We enjoyed excellent fishing with a Sedge during the last half hour. Successful flies were Mayflies, Adams and Cinnamon Sedge. The river was lower than two years ago when we fished at the same time.

Got very frustrated with this venue. Access up the river was extremely difficult, mainly because its fenced off both sides and when you do gain access to wade up stream you come across cattle gates across the water and fallen trees. No fish rising but plenty of Mayfly hatching. Stayed for 3 hours then gave up.
