Good fish caught on a small grey duster in the pool below the falls near the bottom. A few mayfly hatching, but the fish weren't going for them. Shortly afterwards, I fell on some slippery rocks and got very wet, so the day ended early.
Will return soon, but with a wading stick.

Water was very dirty with wash off from the fields. Mick the ghillie put me on lots of fish but none were interested. Over the day I must seen 10 different salmon. Great beat, great advice from Mick I will return soon.

River high and full of colour most of day. Dropped off and clearing by eve. Fish seemed spooked by flood. Not a single rise. Beautiful re-exploring this fantastic beat again. Loved it.

Heavy rain during the night so checked the gauge and it was just about safe so headed to the beat. When I arrived at 8am, the river was dark brown so no possibility of catching on the fly. I only had until 2pm to fish and the river would not be clearing sufficiently before then so headed home.

River becoming increasingly coloured as the morning progressed. Got a couple of early fish to dry fly but by 11:00 visibility was down to around six inches - so went home for lunch!

Bright sun and clear water made for tricky conditions. There are still access issues along the lower section and I had to ask a none-too-happy farmer to walk through their garden on the way up and back down the beat to avoid clambering over barbed wire fences. 7 wbt on dry fly and nymph. Most were 1/2 - 3/4lbs but I managed one larger fish weighing 3lbs at 22inches. Very hard work with most of the risers in flat water or tucked away beneath overhanging branches.
