3 above the bridge for J.D. and 1 below for me. Rain showers but warm. Not many bugs about. Fish rises were intermittent.
Fished from 2 pm to 6pm, hoping for an evening rise.

The place is not the best on the looking side, banks full of rubs carried over by the previous spates and death sheep anging , smell as well unpleasant, but is holding some really good size trouts spooky and spoiled.
Catch two around fifteen sixteen inches on a 20 hook size emergers

River in perfect condition - 8" on the Brecon gauge. Considered cancelling my trip as the weather in Cardiff was appalling and the forecast for the Beacons was little better. Could not see the Storey Arms, let alone Pen y Fan, on the drive up. The Usk valley seemed to be protected from the weather; an occasional squall but otherwise OK. A few olives and the occasional mayfly coming off all day with some fish rising on both the flats and in Llanobery Pool. A number of takes on a dry olive CDC but only one fish to the net.

River was in good condition and running fairly high. Caught 2 on a duo, both took the point fly, which was a small pheasant tail nymph. The other two I caught was on a klinkhammer. Switched to mayfly as a few started to hatch in the afternoon, but no takers.

Not much doing - a handful of smaller fish, up to 14", on duo PTN, then a bit of a late evening rise, when a size 14 Grey Wulff worked a bit. Very accommodating hosts, and a beautiful beat and surroundings, including very vocal sandpipers (who clearly had a nest)
