A challenging day at Foy which was kind of expected but still enjoyable…Another rod recently reported their first Wye Gudgeon and I got my first one too!! Not exactly cause for too much excitement but on days like this anything is welcome…A couple of Chub in the 3lb bracket made for a reasonable short session and a beautiful meal in the Cottage of Content pub made the long trek for me worthwhile…

Cardiac hill too dangerous as significant rain. Had only booked for a late afternoon session on a trevelling day so don't have to carry too much. Sad but better safe than sorry for two old duffers. Have ejoyed it on previous trips.
Fishing Passport Note : 3 weeks ago, 20 new steps were incorporated in to the path leading down to the fishery making access much easier than before.

River had a nice colour & was pushing through, warmer water temperature seamed to have switched the Barbel on all of which came from the upper end of the beat, a new pb was landed by D at 11lb 14oz, a cracking fish for the Wye. Weather conditions were atrocious for humans but must have suited the fish as 7 Whiskers were landed, the lone Chub came from the bottom swim, banks became very slippery by the end of the day, I nearly ended up in the river. A good day's fishing

River levels were ideal but unfortunately the colour was to heavy, lots of small fish topping in the slacker waters bigger fish were elusive

River was up and coloured from heavy rain the night before. Slow going but picked up a few fish towards the end of the day as the colour started to drop out, all on trotting gear
