River very low and clear. 1 chub of around 2lb and 3 barbel 5.10 6.8 and 7lb. All the fish were in great condition and came from the faster section at the top of the beat. A fantastic place to fish and we can't wait to fish it again. Thanks to Wye and Usk.

River low and clear, one bite all day. No fish caught. Annoying to find 3 Polish guys fishing on our beat. I am not sure if they had caught/taken any fish from river. I have reported the matter to Environment Agency.
WUF Note: This was the correct response. Any suspected illegal fishing should be reported to the EA as soon as possible.

Good job we brought the pike gear, as only a few silvers were obliging. Definitely not a low water beat. 2 very tentative chub bites all weekend to 2 rods. CW outnumbered TM, but TM pulled out the big gun. Quality fishing hut provided. Shame Vanstone pool not part of beat.

Once again a beautiful day in the countryside. River clear and off the bottom end of the gauge. More trout visible and rising (obviously aware of the close season!). Enjoyed heckling each others speycasting, which is coming on in leaps and bounds. Three coloured grilse showed from cables downwards, but in slack water were unimpressed by small spinners. No fish but in two weeks we will be ruing the long wait 'til next season.

River was low but that did not stop some good fishing. All fish in good condition and hard fighting. All fish taken just up from Llanstephen Bridge using french leader techniques with the exception of one grayling which was taken on a dry. Best fish, a grayling, around 12". Great day out.

To be honest I wouldn't have booked this beat if I had known(it's the top end of Cefnllysgwynne on the easier bank). I thought it would be the next beat up!. I've looked at it before and it was all bedrock and fast water, today was different, it was just bedrock! Hardly any water at all, just a very narrow gutter and some Stillwater pools! Walked the entire beat looking for somewhere I fancied for grayling and plumped on a long shallower gutter near the top end. A few casts latter I had a 10" trout and lost a nice grayling of a pound+. A little further I hooked into what I first thought was a salmon but turned out to be a monster wbt!(3.5lb weighed). Yes I know it's out of season but its still a hell of a big fish for such a now small piece of water.
Thanks wye and usk for a great weeks fishing and some lovely weather for a change!
