5 rainbow on worm popped up off bottom to avoid the crayfish. 1 from west bank and 4 from east bank. All after midday. Obvious songs of night fishing/poaching on both banks but bailiffs say they will not confront these people at all. If that's the case then Welsh Water obviously have no intention at all to stop it, which is terrible from them given the cost to us to fish there legally...

River high and pushing through strongly, so made it challenging. Lost one and had a very big chub touch ledgering in the ‘slacker water’. Met Colin and Molly for a nice chat. Didn’t stay for the evening when the fish usually switch on but enjoyable day at a beautiful stretch of the wonderful Wye.

Overcast with a touch of mist. 10 degree air temperature, 11.7 degree water temperature, river down to 1.7m with some colour. All sounds pretty good, doesn't it. Unfortunately our fishy friends didn't think so. We fished 6 swims between the 3 of us, all looking very barbelly in the conditions but it was a struggle. All 4 barbel (biggest 7lb from the bottom end, making the walk worthwhile) ) came in the afternoon. Every hookbait in the bag tried but it was a bit of a frustrating day given how good it looked. Still a day on the Wye....

Beautiful day on the river but only one barbel mid afternoon. Chub right in margins. River dropping all day.
Good exercise for all of us as it's amazing the amount of gear us coarse anglers need to lug around.
Thanks to all once again ; We are lucky people to have such access.
