1 x trout 15 inches, Hatching Wet Olive. Another evening on Talybont, not another soul around and a cuckoo calling in the woods opposite. What a beautiful place to spend a few hours! Hard fishing tonight, though, with a colder wind and rain on the way. Two more fish came off.

Spent all day on the river, but unfortunately blanked. I saw three rises and nothing moving sub surface.
Mayfly and PTN to no avail. Perfect conditions weather wise but I guess that's fishing. An enjoyable time non the less.

Cool start but olives hatching and we caught fish. Sun burns though clouds olives stop and we stop catching, hard from then on. Nymphs caught but it was slow and hot, this weather of ours? More fish to olives in evening but temp dropped big time and the rise stopped. Nice fish caught, all returned, will fish this beat again. 12 fish returned.

Manfully trying yet again to get a take of a passing Salmo but as usual not sight nor sound of such a Traveller! However the solitude was interrupted by aggressive pulls from Shad which put a smile on my face as they were very silver and ballsy !! 10 returned and 6 or 7 more prematurely released.

5 Trout from 9 to 14 inch, all in super condition and fighting fit condition, lovely ...
River was fairly quiet with just a few olives and mayfly popping off, turning over the stones revealed plenty of Nymphs of all descriptions and a fair shrimp population and some huge sedge cases too! Lovely bit of river with some fabulous dry fly runs and glides and yes access is a bit tricky as has been noted before but just have a wander round and you"ll find a way through OK, the 'vertical' bank sections are deep and slow anyway and not much fun to fish the fly.
A good bonus is that there's no barbed wire fencing, tightly strung waiting to put holes in your waders and ones other parts down there ...
