Nice day on a dropping river. Height 1.0 on the chainbridge gauge, water clear enough. Beat very fishable/ wadeable at this height. 2 Finnock around 1lb which surprised me as I did not know the Usk was well known for sea trout, lost another and additional takes. Fun fishing. Both had sea lice.

Both anglers only fished half a day. Blanked and not even a knock. Beautiful setting and wildlife but tricky to find the swims and get the car parked anywhere near them given it is heavily wooded and you can't block the track as it is used by others.
There are a few side verges to park up but not many. When we arrived at 8am, others (syndicate members) had taken the decent, deeper swims and parking spots, leaving us scratching around for where to fish. Anyone fishing this beat for the first time should expect to spend quite a chunk of time covering the beat and working out where to fish. Very pretty though.

Used to be very good fishing here now not so much i fished 10 hours there today and all I had to show for it was a perch and a small brown trout definitely not worth the money I paid to fish there, last time I was there very similar fishing too, years ago it was great I loved going there it's a shame, there seems to be a lot of Europeans there who were laughing telling me they never pay to fish there which is a concern
