Pleasant day but with a cold wind, blowing straight down the river. Good hatch of olives at 12noon when wind dropped,fish started rising and I connected with a couple before the wind got up again and it went dead after a 10min flurry.

The trout were caught just before midday on the dry during a brief hatch of Olives. The wind was cold and also made made casting difficult at times blowing straight into our faces throughout the day.
The o/s grayling were taken on ptn, all fish were returned.
Thanks to the booking office, seamless process as always.

Warm but very windy making casting quiet difficult at times. No fish in the morning but a small hatch of LDO around 1pm brought some fish to the surface one lucky cast produced an immaculate trout of around 2 pounds. A small hatch of march browns around 3ish helped me net a fish larger than the first, I would believe it to be in the region of 3 pounds. The river was clear but still a little cold. Great beat I will be back, well done the Wye & Usk.

River quite high but warm at last. Little insect life and no trout interested yet. 2 large grayling prowling the shallows.

Very pleasant day - sunny, clear, dry, downstream breeze. River running clear. A brief flurry of (late) March browns at around 12.10pm but did not interest the trout. Not much of a hatch for rest of day. Maybe the conditions were too dry and 'brassy'. Tried dry fly, dry and suspended nymph and a pair of nymphs, all to no avail!

No fish caught. No fish rising and very little fly life seen.

Another late report from Wyebank. I caught 3 salmon on Allys shrimps size 8 barbless doubles, 2 around 9lbs consecutive casts, which could have been twins, after 9.15pm with other  fish rising as the first took and the last about 12lbs as light was fading and got it off about 10.25. 9's from above the rock 10-12yds upstream from Wyebank crib. I put that rock there in 1994 and have now caught half a dozen fish from it over the last few years. I saw at least a dozen fish and an awesome hatch of small olives like I haven't seen for years coming down like flotillas of minute yachts. Very very exciting all round - in fact amazing evening.

Best fish one and three quarter pounds - rest much smaller. Most on dry Parachute Adams, one on nymph. A lot of sun but still quite cold. Only the odd fish rising so had to work quite hard for them including some challenging wading! Beautiful beat with a pair of sandpipers chasing each other around and a swan nest on an island.
