A fantastic days fishing despite the rainy conditions! A mixed bag of over 30 grayling and trout to the net with a few others lost just at the point of landing. The weather turned cold and wet from mid-day, but we continued to catch on a variety of methods, with around five fish taking the dry. Fantastic!

No fish caught. Didn't stick it out in the rain for too long. As ever a lovely looking stretch of the river, but it felt like a lot of water to cover.

This is what you call a red letter day!!! To be honest we could do no wrong all day. No word of a lie between two rods we must of caught and released over 40 grayling, biggest being about 18in, average size between 12 and 15in. About 15 or so brown trout to 12in. Fish were taken all over the beat using weighted bugs and then the dry fly, tan Klink doing most of the damage. Fanastic hatch of Blue Winged Olives later in the day had a stretch of the beat buzzing with fish activity. Absoulutely fanatastic day on a great well kept beat. Big thank you to WUF and to the land owner for the hard work to produce beats like this. We will return for definate.

We spent a very wet day in Middle Hill Court this Sunday. The river was at a relatively low level as the rain had not yet taken its effect. We fished two swims near to the parking area without success in the morning and then moved slightly up stream, to a location where I was less likely to fall in, in the afternoon. From this new swim my colleague caught three barbel and lost one. The three all weighed in between 6 and 7 1/2 pounds. We would like to give this beat another go on a slightly better day which does not limit our movement quite as much. A good day despite the weather.

A wet and chilly day at Wyebank but rewarding nonetheless. Having visited this fabulous beat a few weeks previous in what were pretty tricky conditions we were eager to get another crack at it. The final tally was 5 barbel to 8lb and 2 chub. All barbel were caught from the bottom pool with touch legering tactics as some of the bites were a little twitchy. Great to meet Don for a chat and to listen to his valued advice. A great stretch of the Wye and one that we will certainly be returning to. I think our final tally would've been greater if I hadn't needed to retreat from the rain every couple of hours due to the lack of an umbrella!
