First time to fish the Wye and on arrival flow was very strong, the area must have had heavy rain and so found it difficult to fish. Lots of debris, even a tree at 1 point, great looking river and scenery though. Unfortunately no fish, going to come back on a colder day with hopefully less flow

As expected arrived to find the river well up and coloured managed to find a slack section out of the main pull and debris, feeding and fishing h/pellet really tight under the near bank. I went on to take 6 chub & 3 barbel, all in superb condition. Thanks yet again to all at w&u.

After all the recent rain I was please to say the irfron was in good shape. 3 grayling to 16 ins all on bugs also a big bonus..........not falling in. Browny points well spent, thank you.

With heavy rain on Friday the Lugg rose from less than 4 on gauge on Friday to nearly 6 on Saturday morning. River very coloured and full of debris. Clearing flow low needed - just not today! Excuses over - we had 1 wbt on nymph and that was it. Did watch an otter moving kits from waterlogged holt to another. Lovely beat - will be back in better conditions.

I fished with halibut pellets in the deep water at the top end of the beat, and caught 3 barbel. First cast at 9.30am produced a 10lb-07oz! This was followed at 14.00 by a 8lb-08oz. Just as the light was going, another beauty of 9lb-04oz rounded off a great day. All the fish in superb condition.

Piking on top half the beat trying any likley looking holes, just one missed run, was told by a member of a shoot late in the day that most of the pike were taken from the bottom of the beat in the slacker waters?? Try there next time maybe, an enjoyable day again in the Wye valley. Thanks everyone at w&u for a great service.

Really struggled on this occasion. No chub or barbel, one pike 12lb.

3 Barbel @ average of 6lbs each (returned).

The river was in flood, far too swollen. Went walking instead, but a lovely area.
