Recent rain meant the levels were high and coloured so expectations were low. Unfortunately they were also met! No catch and one fish seen all day. The bottom end of the beat was difficult fishing as water levels prevented wading.

Fished from 9-2pm, no fish seen or taken. Lovely beat, will be back in a few weeks, I suspect once the weather has warmed up the hatches will be more prolific and hopefully the fish.

4 x WBT up to 12". Superb stretch of river. All caught on nymphs. Didn't see any rising fish, but there was a good hatch of Olives from 1pm til 3.30pm. Water was carry slight amount of colour. Will fish this piece again - some excellent dry fly water on offer.

One fish, small brown trout about 8" caught on a gold bead head, pheasant tail nymph. River quite swollen due to weather. Camped at Mill Farm on edge of beat.

One small 12" brown trout caught on a size 16 gold headed olive nymph. Great little beat, some nice pools.

Nice beat. Hooked 3 and landed 1. Really nice beat with plenty of room. Should be good great sport in a couple more weeks.

Fished about 3 hours and landed 1 nice brown. Water was low and clear with a small hatch about 1:30 or so in the afternoon. Saw no fish rise though and took my fish on a goldhead PTN. Another delightful day on this stretch.

Apart from catching one small trout I didn't see another fish all day. A lovely varied beat well worth revisiting later in the year.

3 x Brown trout up to 12" - on PTN. No rising fish seen. Hooked and lost several more, including one good brown that dived into some tree roots as soon as hooked. Very nice beat, enjoyable to fish.

3 trout around 1.25 to 1.5 pounds all on a dry olive. Brief rise to large dark olives mid afternoon. A beautiful spring day.
