Fishing:Salmon

We were recommended to fish this beat by the Foundation because we requested water suitable for fly fishing with good ease of access for somewhat elderly anglers. The stone walkway at the bottom of the left hand bank of the beat was perfect for us, and a delight to fish (provided your double spey casting is up to sctratch). We saw and caught nothing, but had a most enjyable day. The canoeists were very curteous and went down the far bank without disturbing the fishing at all.

Beat:Wyebank
Fishing:Salmon
No. of Anglers:1
Fly fishing midday Thursday 21st with size 8 barbless double cascade I hooked a 12lb fish in the wharf pool and played it into the wyebank pool before releasing. I was casting from towards the tail of Wyebank run and extending line to fish back into holding lie of wharf pool immediately below the gravel and stone shoal, tail of wyebank run. This lie has now produced around 50 percent of the fish from wyebank since 2004. The river was a trifle high at 1ft2" but fishing brilliantly with the cribs fishing like weirs. Fantastic conditions, lots of mayfly hatching.

Exciting days fishing on this beautiful stretch of river with 8 WBT caught up 16 inches, and many more missed. Fish were taken on a variety of dries and nymphs. Excellent evening rise provided great sport, and saw/heard several large sea trout.
