Off the mark at last!! water 0.57m and coloured. No salmon showing. Hooked a 6lb grilse at the tree root in the Rockpool on black/gold FC. Hook came out in net, so returned the hen fish without handling. Hooked a larger double ten yards down, which had three strong runs down toward the Chine and came off. Both at 6.30 - 7pm.
Sparse trout rise late on probably due to colour. J P fished am and pm with no success.

Beat:R40, PANDY BEAT
Fishing:Trout (River)
No. of Anglers:1
River levels very low on the day, locals saying that they never see fish in the river, very stroppy Welsh Black cattle roaming up and down the beat, filthy weather....but I had one of the best days fishing I've ever had..... a small 7' brook rod and a couple of dries,(from a great shop in Prague by the way, called 'Spin and Fly'...well worth a visit)
Two brownies that took all day, stayed a couple of miles up the road at the ALLT YR YNYS country hotel (A465 HEREFORD, TURN LEFT AT THE PANDY INN....not before having a pint of course)great accomodation, food more than a little heavy! but they let you fish the river in front the hotel....very good breakfast.
