An interesting day, spent the morning searching for fish with no avail until I switched to summer tactics then I had six fish from one run in quick succession. The best of which measured 22-24 inches. Over the course of the day I had another couple of fish.
No hatch to speak of all day and I did not see a fish rise.

A lovely looking stream - the upper section has some lovely pools. The river was very low and clear so I will reserve my judgment of the beat for a day when the water is higher and fish are feeding a bit more. Few fish seen even though the pools were no doubt home to trout. No fish landed - several good fish rose to sedge and lost - one particularly big fish lost.

Beautiful day, slight colour to water, sky with high cloud but warm. From 11am till 5pm LDOs present but not in large numbers. Saw one fish rise! But what to? I cast an olive klinkhammer with a PTN at the point for perhaps 10mins but could not tempt the fish to take. The only other fish seen and caught was a fine 10" wild brownie and what a fight this little fish put up, tail walking and charging off all over the stream, on light tackle great fun. The fish was returned unharmed, it took the PTN. Strange thing is, I've fished this beat before and caught lots of fish and seen a lot. Today I only fished half the beat in the time as above and I then walked the rest but did not see another fish. May be still early. Dippers and Sand Martins for company though. Great day, thank's WUF.

Fished a couple of hours in the evening. Thought it might be a little early in the year for this stream but there were a number of fish rising. 3 BT to 8" on grey klinkhammer and pt nymph and a fair few lost due to rusty early season reactions.
