Really slow start for one of us but a bit of perseverance and a change of position ended in us both taking 3 fish each. Bait used by us both was worm

River still quite coloured after recent rain. Mays were hatching in small numbers, didn't seem to get the trout going on the surface very often. A grey wolf seemed to work for a small period, in at the edges closed to the tree roots. Lovely quiet spot!

Nice half pound brown on a hedgehog fly on the dropper on the surface. One other strike on this, but did not connect. Beautiful day if you can get the wind behind you.

Didn't arrive until midday and the river looked pretty coloured from the bridge. Started at the bridge and went upstream and plenty of mayfly and olive's around by 1. Fish taking mayfly well so fished mainly Klinkhammer but Dhe and para Adams also worked well. Didn't quite get to the top finished about 5.
20+ to hand and plenty more lost or missed.

20+ Usk brownies on this lovely beat on the dry fly. Unfortunately the barbed wire reported by others is no joke. The upper section has nice stiles and you are protected from the wire. The first three gates you need to take care going over and around. Next time I’ll be using my 7.5 foot rod on this beat as a lot is tree covered in the bottom section. Thanks for using what3words WUF, directions brill as always.
