With the recent lack of water and high water temperature i was surprised to see the great condition that the trout where in,
especially the two around the pound and a half mark. Broad at the shoulder and full of energy. Much leaping and cart wheeling.
Caught five, lost four. great sport, all safely returned. Fished here three years ago and found it interesting how the shape of the river had changed. Had the added bonus of not falling in the river this time but did manage to mis judge a small step up
on the bank and found myself slightly bemused and staring at the clouds. No damage and thankfully nobody around to see
my geriatric gymnastics. What's this "with great age comes great wisdom"? I'm still waiting.
Took the best fish on B W olive nymph size 16. Ph T slightly larger.
Great to see a kingfisher buzzing up and down, dippers, wagtails.Decent fly hatch around 4.30pm
