Fished early morning and no bites. Returned in evening and fished from 7.30pm.

4 good chub on Robin Red 12mm fished over krill and shrimp groundbait on the feeder in mid flow in the lower end swim.

First barbel c 6.5 pounds on Robin Red. Second ripped 20 m of line off and was netted after 10 mins. C9 pounds and pristine. Both rested and returned strongly.

After a tough week of hard fishing the Wye delivered a memorable session.

Bank access on lower swim is dangerous and ideally needs steps putting in / a rope.

Never had a chance, impossible fishing conditions. River is so low and it was also hot and bright. Only fish to be found were hiding under trees and largely inaccessible even rolling baits underneath, they didn’t show any interest in feeding. In general, this is such a nice stretch but needs more swims made accessible. Other was a foul hooked minnow. Hey, it counts! Saved the blank.

Primarily fished the top croy with low water and clear skies. Float tactics using a mixture of meat and sweetcorn.
Directions and parking were good. A 3-minute walk to the first croy, but requires sure-footedness. Many thanks to those that keep this spot available.

An absolutely beautiful spot to fish but again very very low and clear. Some of the swims were way too steep to get access. Fished the beach to start but that was dead. Moved up in the afternoon to a much deeper spot opposite the stones on far bank. Had 8 chub on gripper feeder and dumbell boilies. One was a beauty at 5lb close to my pb. Lost a cracking barbel due to rig failure, shot off like a bullet was a very good fish. I expect fishes great from the beach section with some more water and colour. Again another beat where the swims need tidying. This isn’t cheap fishing and the swims need more attention in my humble opinion.

Tough conditions, water very low. But a superb location and plenty rising around me and further upstream, tricky to catch, lost a lot more than I hooked. Part of the fun, will be back!
