Fished late afternoon until 6.30pm when it got cold and I got a bit wet with the rain . Very little activity. One take on a klinkhammer and a couple of pulls on a mayfly nymph and they was all.

Nymphing just wasn't cutting it with the gusty wind making it quite tricky, but all fish caught on weighted point fly with a team of wets fished down and across.

First time fly fishing, nice and easy spot to wade. Had great advice from fishing wales. Had an accidental grayling when targeting brown trout, lost a trout too as didn't strike soon enough.
Nice spot! Noticed there was a cabin there, is it available to book?

Broke one nice fish off on a wet fly. A good amount of late morning surface activity but no obvious hatch at least to my eyes. I could not get a rise to a dry fly of any kind. A bit breezy and cool.
