Arrived early morning in very foggy conditions. The river looked good with a bit of pace and good colour. Fished one peg only and caught 3 barbel of almost identical size 7lb 2oz, 2 Chubb at 4lb and 1 smaller.
Sun came out at around 12.30 and bites dried up but started again latish afternoon. A thoroughly enjoyable day.

Fished a few swims in the lower field below the wood with a cage feeder and meat or pellet as hookbait. Had a small chub and a 5lb 4oz barbel in the morning mist, but the rest of the day was dead - no knocks despite moving around, until one last small chub. Very difficult to access swims in the furthest field.

Fished nymphs p.m. after morning fog burned off. Water running through at fair pace, but river very quiet apart from splashes from falling acorns at lower end. Failed to locate any grayling and caught only leaves.

From 5 degrees and thick fog to 17 and t-shirt in the afternoon. Started at the top orchard section. Only one accessible swim and a couple of small chub later moved down to the meadow section where things got better. Roved along the stretch taking fish from every swim tried.
Best barbel 9.2. Most chub between 1-2lb but a couple of 4 plussers too. A thoroughly enjoyable day.

What a lovely beat and hasn't there been a lot of work done to it! We block booked this beat, so there were three anglers on it and a great day was had by all.

Fished from noon to 5.30pm, 3 grayling to 13" and two OOS trout, largest just over 13", all on nymphs. Did try a Daddy-long-legs too but only got bites from some tiddly grayling on that, not hooked - I think they were trying to take the legs off one by one :D Some sparse mayfly hatches late afternoon, but generally quiet. Connected briefly with a larger fish which gave a couple of heavy head shakes...and my barbless hook popped out - Sod's Law that was the only one that slipped off! Beautiful beat, nice to see the care that has gone into the banksides - hardly any Himalayan balsam to be seen which is very refreshing (I made a further dent in the few left!). Thanks for a lovely day out and look forward to visiting again.

Beat:White House
Fishing:Coarse
No. of Anglers:2
This was our 2nd day at White House and fished the upper stretch, 1 small Barbel and small Chub early nothing until later with 2 good size chub. Previous day we had fished off the concrete edge the with no success so moved lower down to the shingle Bank with 3 good sized chub up to 5lb all later on. All in all a lovely peaceful place to fish (extraction pump NOT running) but could benefit from some work to the upper stretch for access/more swims, as the bank is fairly steep, however can't wait to return.
