More rain! River rose to 215cm, and I didn't think I'd be able to fish as the 2 swims from yesterday were now under water.

I was able to set up on the upper tier below the car park, and tested a few casts to what looks like a possible holding spot, where the chocolate coloured water seemed to slow just enough to be different from the main. The feeder was holding to my suprise!

The first barbel came around 11.30, an hour after my first catch. Difficult to tell a bite, from the branches and leaves being caught by my line.

After losing at least 10 of my hooks links to branches, sticks, logs that were floating on top, and under the surface, I was about to pack up and head home, then a second unmistakable bite....

Hard, frustrating and rewarding. A great days fishing.

2 Barbel

Not my best day. Biggest chub about 4lb but couldn’t track down or tempt the barbel. Cold rainy day, river charging and bank very, very dodgy in places. Top croy under about 1 metre of water.

3 Chub

Only 3 anglers. 2.25m of water and rising. Most falling to meat.

7 Barbel, 1 Chub

River was up about 1.5 m and was also very snaggy . Only a few swims were fishable .Had three bites and managed to catch two nice barbel on luncheon meat up to 7 lbs . We had an enjoyable day and it would be a nice stretch with better conditions.

2 Barbel

River was still rising with a couple of inches of visibility. Fished in the Meadow, successful baits being meat and boils wrapped in Paste (garlic and Cheese)

2 fished.
Barbel approx. 4lbs. - 7+lbs. Chub around 3 lbs.
All on curried luncheon meat and feeder.
A great day.
