River painfully low all along this short stretch. Confirmed by the roe deer that waded across under foy bridge an hour after sunrise. Fished the water before rapids resulting in 3 barbel in 3 casts. An hour after sunrise.
Then some chub of 2 to 3lb. Tried trundling meat through fast section when it went quiet about lunchtime but gave up with all the canoes trying to navigate down through the fast water. Went back on feeder up above the rapids with krill groundbait hemp and maize. Had 6 more barbel and more chub. Late afternoon into evening.
My best day on the Wye so far.

No fish caught, however a number of fish breached the water. We did surprisingly catch an American Signal Crayfish, somewhere between 7-8”.

Great session at Lower Canon after not being here for a number of years. Weather muggy part cloudy. River low and clear . Fished a couple of swims and took the fish on a variety of baits. Usual visitors opposite in the weir gardens and the canoeists but that all quietened down later in the day. Barbel to 8lb+ chub to 4lb+ all fish well rested before returned and the majority were in immaculate condition . Many thanks WUF

Hard day on the river ,managed to winkle out some chub ,biggest would have gone well over the 4ib mark ,but was skinny
Loads of small dace ,chublets and bleak .
Should have fished the faster runs ,but being old makes the walk hard work !
