River seemed in reasonable condition, but lowish water. Plenty of fly life hatching off the water but only saw two rises all day. No luck for me today, but saw 2 large perch mooching around in the slow water and a kingfisher, so it was a pleasant few hours fishing.

1 Smoult Caught - thought this would be a bit late. Very quickly and safely released.
Lovely short beat - lost a fantastic fish just around the corner....quiet tricky casting towards the end of the beat but lovely fishing. Was slightly cold to get everything going!

Overcast, no rain. River level good and clear.
Fished the lower beat in the morning. Sporadic rising fish but tricky to figure out what they were taking ... In the end most interest achieved from small dry flies (bwo, iron blue dun and dhe). 3 fish to 1.5lb landed on dry fly from The Little Stream. Two others hooked and lost while euro nymphing. Fished above the bridge in the afternoon and into the evening. Lots of sport. Several missed takes, three fish hooked and lost, and one to the net. Lovely beat, very welcoming. Varied water and lots of wildlife to add to the enjoyment.
